Design Recommendation Library

Goal: To provide a tool for clients to view design recommendations to facilitate intuitive and safe use of products.

Scope: UI/UX Internship at Emergo

Time Frame: 6 months

Role: UX Researcher, Writer, UI Designer, Graphics illustrator

Tools: Figma, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign

During my internship with Emergo, one of my significant projects focused on enhancing client engagement and improving healthcare product design. As a key initiative, I designed and developed an internal online tool that served as a centralized platform for clients to access our comprehensive design recommendations, enabling them to improve their products.

Background and Problem Space

When advising companies without a design team or prior experience, our team often encounters numerous questions regarding best practices for product design. To address this need, we have developed a centralized platform that grants access to a comprehensive library of design recommendations curated from Human Factors standards and guidelines. Our aim with this design recommendation library is to promote self-service learning opportunities, enabling them to enhance their product development process. Offering this tool helps Emergo by increasing company profits and driving client engagement.

Design Process

Our team decided to include the Design Recommendation Library as a supplement to our already existing internal tool, OPUS (Optimized Productivity Usability Site). A style library was previously created for OPUS that we also used for the Design Recommendation Library. It includes iconography, typography, color, graphics, modals, cards, and more. Using the style library, our team came up with different concepts for the Design Recommendation Library. Below are some examples.
